Job Description
Location: Community-Based and/or Online (depending on program needs)
Hours: Flexible – Minimum 3 hours per week
Reporting to: Volunteer Coordinator / Youth Programme Lead
Type: Volunteer (Unpaid, with references and training provided)
Role Purpose
To support Diaspora Outreach UK in raising vital funds that enable the delivery of culturally relevant community services. This role involves helping to plan, promote, and execute fundraising campaigns and building meaningful relationships with supporters, donors, and partners.
Key Responsibilities

Research and apply for grants, trusts, and community funding opportunities.

Assist in planning and promoting fundraising events, both in-person and online.

Develop donor outreach materials, including emails, social media content, and appeals.

Support partnership building with local businesses and community sponsors.

Help track donations, generate reports, and maintain donor engagement records.

Represent the organisation positively and professionally in fundraising efforts.
Essential Skills & Qualities

Excellent written and verbal communication

Organised and self-motivated

Confident using email, Microsoft Office, and social media platforms

Passionate about community development and equality

Creative, with a positive, can-do attitude
Desirable Experience

Experience in fundraising, grant writing, or bid applications

Familiarity with crowdfunding platforms or donor engagement strategies

Knowledge of UK charity fundraising regulations and best practice

Graphic design or marketing skills are a bonus
